Active Reading caters for a variety of learners to help them develop the essential skills they need to do well and perform in school.

Active Reading incorporates a range of research-based approaches to teaching reading to ensure your child gets the most progress out of each lesson.
The lesson structure and program runs as follows;
Raymond has 20 years teaching experience working with children experiencing difficulty learning and has taught over 1,000 students how to read.
The main focus of his career has been supporting students experiencing language-related learning difficulties, dyslexia, hyperlexia, decoding and phonological learning issues.
Raymond has been involved in the teaching of reading theory and practical application to Bachelor of Education students at the University of Sydney for over 15 years for the special education component of the degree.
He has presented at numerous conferences about effective ways of supporting students struggling in schools and done consultation work for the private schools and the NSW Department of Education.
Raymond enjoys teaching students how to read and working with parents to get the best results possible.
Active Reading is a reading tuition centre located adjacent to Ashfield train station on Hercules St, Ashfield. The main goal of the Reading Centre is to develop high quality reading programs for struggling students to help them learn to read.
It is active in the sense that students are provided time to work through a wide variety of fundamental reading skills in thoughtful and engaging ways.
Classes are held on weekends, Friday and Monday afternoons. For each course students will be required to attend two lessons on Saturdays and Sundays. Lessons are 50 minutes in duration.
Yes, there is free 3 hours underground parking located around the corner under the Phoenix Arcade. The carpark entry is on Brown St, Ashfield. There is council parking available on Brown Street and Ashfield Mall carpark is nearby.
Active Reading is conveniently located next to Ashfield Station.
Nothing, all resources for lessons will be provided as a part of the course fee.
Students will be accepted into the class up to 10 minutes late.
